Prudential Insurance Company of Boston, Ma. commissioned Cathy to create her first “corporate” art, in the 80s. The project was to make eight large urns – to line a wide hall to a conference room. Each urn was made out of a base cylinder and then two tall cylinder, all thrown on a potter’s wheel to make a single whole – 18” tall and 24” wide.
But that was showing off Cathy’s potting skills and her personal glazes from her own recipes. Since then many corporate commissions have been to create pieces for Healthcare institutions – such as Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston (also some of its satellite facilities) and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Mass.
